Simplifying Tech Jargon for Designers and PMs
As a software engineer, I’ve always worked closely with cross-functional teams. I often noticed that designers and product managers felt left out during technical discussions. We engineers casually drop terms like “API,” “CI/CD,” or “micro-services,” expecting designers and product managers to follow along.
This often happened during the Tech presentations as well. Most non-technical people were genuinely interested in learning about the Tech features we are building but they get lost due to the tech terms thrown around during the presentation. There were multiple instances where I used to explain tech terms to my teammates while the presentation is going on. This disconnect was just frustrating for my non-technical colleagues.
DevTerms.ai was created to solve this problem. My goal is to build a minimalistic app where anyone — whether you’re a designer, a product manager or even a beginner programmer, can quickly look up a term and get a simple, easy-to-understand explanation.
What Makes DevTerms.ai Different?
- Built for Everyone: DevTerms.ai focuses on being accessible to non-technical users aw well as a beginner programmer. It’s perfect for designers, product managers, and even marketers who want to understand tech terms without diving into overly technical explanations.
- Instant Definition: Instead of Googling endlessly or getting lost in dense articles, you get concise, beginner-friendly definitions at your fingertips along with real-life analogies.
- AI-Powered Suggestions: Not sure what to search for? DevTerms.ai uses AI to recommend related and random terms, so you can learn as you go.
- A Growing Library: Our term database is constantly expanding. Every time someone searches for a term, our system learns and adds it to the platform.
I’d love for you to try it out and see how it can help you. Your feedback means a lot — let me know what you think or share suggestions to make it even better!
